A French-German wedding in black tie, near Agen.
A wedding is always a unique moment, and when two cultures meet, it gains something special. For Laura and Adrien’s French-German wedding at Les Hauts de la Frégate, in the hills above Agen in Lot-et-Garonne, traditions from both sides came together under perfect weather, with an elegant black dress code that gave the whole day a sophisticated, cinematic feel.

Getting ready, in black and white
A black-tie dress code is a gift for a photographer: deep blacks, crisp white shirts, and the play of light and shadow I love. From the groom’s bow tie to the bride’s last touches, getting ready happened in a quiet, intimate light.

Two families, one ceremony
With families from France and Germany, the ceremony was a meeting of languages and families. Readings, laughter, a few tears and long embraces: I stay discreet and let these moments happen on their own.

Golden hour on the terrace
As the sun went down, I took Laura and Adrien away for a few minutes on the terrace. A little direction, then nothing more than the two of them and the warm evening light.

A brass band, an aerial show and a dance floor on fire
The evening had a few surprises in store: a brass band in the garden, an aerial acrobat performing above the guests, then a dance floor that never emptied. I stay right in the middle of it, with direct flash and plenty of movement.

Planning a wedding in South West France from abroad?
Lot-et-Garonne, between Bordeaux and Toulouse, is full of hidden estates and family houses with sweeping views. I’m based in Agen, I speak English, and travel is always included. If you’re planning your wedding in the region, I’d love to hear about it.
